Principles of

Internal Auditing

FOOD SAFETY TRAINING COURSE

Join our 2-hour class LIVE on Zoom to learn how to effectively plan, conduct, report, and follow up on internal audits!

An internal audit is a “proactive” tool for risk management, continuous improvement, and cost containment by identifying “potential problems” before they become a problem. The internal audit is key to assuring compliance with regulations and customer requirements, and helps protects consumers from food safety hazards. This comprehensive internal audit course equips participants with the knowledge and practical skills to effectively plan, conduct, report, and follow up on internal audits of food safety management systems (FSMS).

Aligned with international standards such as ISO 22000, ISO 19011, and GFSI-benchmarked schemes (BRCGS, SQF, FSSC 22000), the training emphasizes auditing principles for continuous improvement. Participants will have an understanding of how to assess the effectiveness of food safety programs—not just compliance—by objectively evaluating processes, facilities, environments, Good Manufacturing Practices/prerequisite programs, documentation, and operational controls.

You Will Learn:

    • Definition and Structure of an Audit…What is an Audit?
    • Benefits of an Audit…Why conduct an audit?
    • Internal Auditor’s Responsibilities…What does an auditor do?
    • Conducting an Effective Internal Audit… How do I do that?

This course includes:

    • A presentation of the Principles of Internal Auditing curriculum
    • Hands-on learning through classroom discussion
    • Handouts for each attendee containing Examples, Templates, and Resources
    • Students who successfully complete this 2-hour course will be issued a Certificate of Training by FSQC.

I liked that the examples used in the presentations were actual situations that a 8D or 5P were done.

I . . . have received more “chair time” in educational/continuing ed classes than I care to count. Rarely have I scored a class this high. . . . The instructor was thorough in his explanations and at the same time not too redundant. The visual aids were excellent and the handouts provided will be put to good use at our facility. I was NOT disappointed. Looking forward to future classes from FSQC. . . .

This course helped me understand CAPA and root cause analysis with new and interesting perspective. The examples were very well selected to help understand the course. . . .
